Bryce Petty threw four touchdown passes, leading No. 8 Baylor to a 63-21 victory against Buffalo on Friday night.
Petty went 23 for 34 for 416 yards through three quarters, and Shock Linwood had 98 yards rushing and two touchdowns for Baylor (3-0). Lynx Hawthorne and Jay Lee each caught two touchdown passes.
It was Petty's first game since he cracked two small bones in his back during a season-opening 45-0 win against Southern Methodist.
The Bears scored on their first four possessions on their way to a 35-0 halftime lead. Baylor had more touchdowns (five) than Buffalo had first downs (four) in the first half.
The Bulls (1-2) scored twice on consecutive possessions in the third quarter. Joe Licata hit Devon Hughes for a 41-yard touchdown pass, and Anthone Taylor scored on a 41-yard run.
Cincinnati beats Toledo, 58-34
Gunner Kiel tied Cincinnati's record with six touchdown passes in his debut Friday night, and the Bearcats got a big early lead and held on for a 58-34 victory over Toledo in their season opener.
Kiel, a transfer from Notre Dame, showed off his strong and accurate arm from the outset. He completed a 52-yard pass on the game's opening play from scrimmage and hardly missed as Cincinnati (1-0) pulled ahead, 34-0, throwing for four touchdowns in the first half. Overall, Kiel was 25 for 37 for 418 yards with six touchdowns that matched Tony Pike's school record.

Miami defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad will not play football for the Hurricanes this season, after his suspension from the university for a disciplinary matter was revealed Friday.
As a private school and citing federal laws about protecting students' personal information, Miami officials did not disclose any specific reasons for the suspension. However, police records show that Muhammad was alleged to have struck a former Miami student and roommate three times in an altercation after the Hurricanes' spring game on April 12.
