USC, desperately thin at tight end, will add some depth before next season.
Taylor McNamara, who played at Oklahoma the last three seasons, announced Monday on Twitter he would join the Trojans this summer. McNamara would be eligible immediately under the NCAA's graduate transfer exception.
McNamara, who attended San Diego Westview High, caught one pass in 11 career games for the Sooners.
"Want to thank everybody @ OU for a fun 3 years. Furthest thing from a easy decision to leave, but @ the end of the day I felt it was best... for my future. I've made great friends who I will keep in touch with after I graduate in May. Excited to say though, I'm headed back to... so cal, and will be a Trojan come July," McNamara wrote in series of tweets.
McNamara, 6 feet 5 and 245 pounds, played in two games as a freshman in 2012 but suffered a shoulder injury and was granted a medical redshirt, Oklahoma's website said.
He had one reception in four years in 2013. He played in six games last season.
Junior Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick, who was academically ineligible last season, is USC's only scholarship tight end participating in spring practice, which resumes Tuesday.
Sophomore Bryce Dixon has not participated because of what Coach Steve Sarkisian has said is a student-conduct issue.
