Authorities said a woman was killed and two children were injured Wednesday evening in Montebello after they were struck by a truck.
The fatal collision occured about 8:20 p.m. in the 400 block of Garfield Avenue, said Montebello Police Department Lt. Michael Bergman.
It appears as though the woman and the children, believed to be 5 and 9 years old, were not in a crosswalk when they were hit, Bergman said.
The driver of the truck stopped and is cooperating with authorities. The driver was not believed to have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Bergman said.
The woman was taken to a hospital where she died of her injuries, Bergman said. She is believed to be the children's mother. The severity of the children's injuries were not immediately known.
